Starting in 2008, iNARTE has created different Test and Training relationships to better serve our prospective Certification candidates and the different Certification disciplines.
The following new and modified categories now exist:
- Individual Test Proctor – An Authorized Individual who administers iNARTE Examinations and/or FCC licensure tests at an Authorized Test Center.
- Authorized Test Center – A facility that is authorized to conduct iNARTE Examinations and/or FCC licensure tests under the jurisdiction of an Authorized Proctor.
- Approved Training Center – An Individual Tutor, School, Institute, College or University that offers Training in an iNARTE discipline or in FCC licensure preparation, and whose Courses have been approved by iNARTE as appropriate for Certification Candidates or FCC Commercial License applicants.
- Accredited Training Institute – A School, Institute College or University that offers Training in an iNARTE discipline, whose Curriculum has been approved by iNARTE as appropriate for Certification Candidates and that offers BA, BE, BEE or Associate degrees, Diplomas or equivalent, such that iNARTE will award certification to graduates at a Junior or Affiliate level with no further examination*.
*Applicants will need to meet all other Junior/Affiliate Certification Requirements.
Designation as an iNARTE Accredited Training Institute reflects the
quality of your course curriculum and provides national and
international recognition of the professionalism your graduates
bring to the industry.
Graduates from an Accredited Training Institute may apply directly
to iNARTE for Certification at a Junior Engineer, Junior
Technician, Affiliate Engineer or Affiliate Technician,
depending upon the discipline they are entering, with no further
examination required. Applicants will need to have at least two
endorsements from heads of their departments or senior tutors,
and meet the other iNARTE requirements, including ethical
practice and professionalism. Adding iNARTE Certification to
their other qualifications enhances the new graduate’s career
opportunities and distinguishes them as one of the more
dedicated, goal driven individuals.
Accredited Training Institutes are encouraged to develop an iNARTE
Student Chapter, whereby students can gain exposure to industry
and to other Professional Associations that iNARTE is affiliated
with.
Accredited Training Institutes may also wish to be Authorized
Test Centers and offer iNARTE Examinations and FCC Licensure
Tests to students, postgraduates and other professionals living
close to their facility. (Separate Application Forms Required).
As a Test Center you are required to administer scheduled iNARTE
and/or FCC Licensure Tests quarterly (minimum), provide a point
of contact and comply with the examination administration
procedures specified in the Responsibilities, Procedures and
Rules form.
Once approved, your School, Institute, College or University
receives an iNARTE Accreditation Certificate.
