Do I Need an FCC License?
The answer depends on whether you wish to operate only or operate, repair and maintain radio stations. View the List of FCC Licenses

CAUTION! These listings only describe when a personal radio operator license is necessary. Before you operate any radio station, make certain that the STATION is licensed as required. CB and Radio Control radio stations do not require station licenses.
For more information on station and equipment licensing, visit the FCC www.fcc.gov/licenses.html.

NOTE: The holder of a commercial radio operator license or permit is not authorized to operate amateur radio stations. Only a person holding an amateur radio operator license may operate an amateur radio station. Fore more information on Amateur Radio Licenses (HAM Radio), visit the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) at www.arrl.org
